@Jacques ,
That's true! The more fired up we are, the calmer we need you. Hope that makes sense.
That's why with BPD, we often say, 'Strike when the iron is COLD'. pwBPD do not have a reasoning brain when they are triggered.

@BPDSurvivor @cloudcore @KirstyNEABPD @Jacques
I'm all for sensory boxes with BPD in a self care kit! I'm in the process of putting 1 together for myself as a combination of a sensory / self care box with things for me to dip into when I'm having a BPD episode. I've even ordered a showbag with fidget/sensory things in it to add to my little box of tricks as I know it was useful to have those things when I just had my PARCS stay 2 weeks ago.

Another thing that worked for me whenever I was extremely upset is the person leaves (for a short time), and tells me they are returning to check-in at a particular time. NB if you say you are returning at a particular time, please do it! Otherwise all hell breaks loose!
By doing this, I have time to calm down, and I also know you haven't 'abandoned' me.

Question 4.
For those working with people living with BPD: What shifts need to be made in healthcare spaces?
