Re: Night Shift

Great you are clear about goals and satisfied about directions.

I had a ho hum day .. felt a bit of a waste .. trying too hard maybe .. traipsing across town ... my recorder lesson seemed expensive and I missed my student ... defective trains .. dinner and dishes ... time for bed.

Tomorrow is another day.Heart

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Appleblossom,

Yes well having a IT background, it is mostly problem solving anyway, i like problem solving so it is very natural for me 🙂

Wow, yes it is amazing how many new estates are going up everywhere, they are popping up here everywhere, their is definitely a growing population, which is concerning when land runs out, but that is another story for another time.

i am glad you are taking your time to choose another lounge, it is a big decision and it is where you spend a lot of time ,so it needs to be comfy and ergonomic for your bad neck, i hope you find a nice lounge when you do decide on one.

take care @Appleblossom, nice to speak again ,we must chat more often.

Jacques

@Mazarita i am proud of you sticking to your schedule, it is a big thing giving up, please keep up the positivity and keep up the good work 🙂

DEar @Mazarita

Hi,

Have I missed something.oh yes, you wanted to change your Psychologist didnt you? Good for you for doing it.

Great to hear about your smoking. I wish.......I had the same news here.

Re: Night Shift

Hi all,

Woken again after only 2-3 hours sleep, overstimulated. Just a bit of a ramble here and I'll try for some more sleep.

A big day out yesterday. Very warm and humid, the hottest day for a year. Was out walking in it from place to place, a mess of sweat for most of the day. Away from home for 12 hours, the longest I've been out of the flat for quite some time. 8am beach walk, friends, library, GP, then another friend and her sister. Stayed for dinner there and home around 8pm.

Later this morning it was planned I'd start a community music class, but I may need some recovery from yesterday and won't be going if this headache is still happening. Support worker is coming in the afternoon.

That's all I can write for now.

Re: Night Shift

Its annoying when we get overstimulated, but it is great to hear you were out doing many good things.  I was sweaty yesterday too, if its any consolation. @Mazarita its fantastic you are looking into music again.

cheers Apple

Re: Night Shift

Hi All, sorry I havent caught up with everything but I got sent my daily email from Sane the other day with lots of well wishes for going back to work, thank you so much!! Its been really hard and I'm really stressed and anxious. I'm home today because my lil girl is sick with a chest infection 😞 poor bubba! Hoping she'll be ok tomorrow now she's on antibiotics because i have sooo much to do and my class is not going to cope iwth a reliever. Its just really stressful and I have a couple of students with extreme special needs so feeling really guilty to not be there today.

I'm really not sure i should have gone back to work...

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member We're here for you, lisaj 🙂

Re: Night Shift

DEar Lj,

It's okay, don't worry. At least you have your little daughter first on her mind. @LittleBuddha says...words from the wise Buddha, your daughter is more important.

Keep things in perspective......... @Former-Member

My parents were wiz bang teachers and they got heaps of acclaim from the Education Department,:with their groundbreaking work with at risk children. My mother got an old car towed to the school and taught English with teaching teenagers the spellling of things in the car to keep their attention.

Every night they would come home and be very drunk and stand us up in a row threatening to put us in orphanages. So...yeah, forget the daughter and deal with the other children at your class.

Its not going to help them and certainly not your own daughter

Sorry for being harsh. You are AMAZING. xx

Re: Night Shift

@PeppiPatty Hi, Peppi, this whole CULTURE is at fault if you ask me - i mean, life is hard at least some of the time everywhere in the world but i hardly bother even socialising anymore in australia because it's too darned traumatic!  let alone go and do a job well with a professional attitude and cop bullying and discrimination until i have to leave.  anyway, i'm stuck indoors today because my foot hurts.

Re: Night Shift

@PeppiPatty I'm very sorry that your childhood was so awful, Peppi.  What you describe is shocking.  It's no wonder that rates of mental illness in australia are very high.  the whole culture is conflict-orientated, including, it seems, parenting.  as a woman, i don't feel safe anywhere much in australia and that takes all the fun out of socialising and lifestyle stuff, and holidays too 😞
